Overview
The Isle of Wight Youth Trust is seeking dynamic and passionate individuals, who are looking to use their skills for the benefit of children and young people, to join our board.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Board of Trustees for the Isle of Wight’s largest independent provider of youth mental health services. We are looking for three individuals, with experience in:
- Counselling and Psychotherapy; and
- Education
We welcome diversity and encourage candidates of all ages, including those aged under 30 to apply.
We are looking for the following important personal qualities:
- an understanding and/or interest in the challenges that children and young people face, particularly in mental health.
- a commitment to teamwork and consensus building, without being afraid to critically challenge or question – striving for the best rather than “good enough”.
- a passion for social change and a commitment to principles of diversity, equality, and inclusion.
Crucially, the successful candidates will be excited about the opportunity to effect lasting change for children and young people on the Isle of Wight.
The specialist attributes that we are looking for are:
Counselling and Psychotherapy
You will ideally:
- currently be in a management or senior leadership role in counselling and psychotherapy for children and young people
- be a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy or similar professional body.
You do not need to be resident on the Isle of Wight to fulfil this role, but you will need to be willing to travel to the Island for at least four face-to-face meetings per annum.
OR
Education
You will ideally:
- currently be in an education role on the Isle of Wight; and
- have a detailed knowledge and practical experience of safeguarding.
To apply
Interested candidates should visit the Youth Trust Website for a full role description and details on how to submit a CV and Supporting Statement.
