An opportunity has arisen within the well-established Pre-operative Assessment and Admissions Unit (PAAU) for two fixed term Admissions Officer posts until end of March 2019 to support booking our patients for operative procedures.
The Pre-assessment and Admissions Unit is a busy department that deals with a wide variety of surgical patients including general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, ENT, Maxillo facial and Ophthalmology prior to patients coming in for their planned surgery. The Admissions Officer is responsible for managing the admission of patients, to schedule operations to ensure that the clinical needs of patients are met whilst ensuring that target dates are not breached.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is the ability to work under pressure. Flexible working approach is essential.
